Despite Changing Home Sales Trends, Roof Remains Valuable

Not many property owners care to check about home sales trends and how, just like the weather, it can change relatively quickly. An article from Delaware Public Media hopes to brief the average homeowner on the latest real estate trends in the First State.

Delaware is bucking a national housing market trend, according to a new report released Thursday.

Real estate information company RealtyTrac’s monthly and quarterly report shows that total home sales were up almost half a percentage point in March nationwide.

In Delaware, though, housing sales were down one percent last month. Ruth Briggs King, chief operating officer of the Sussex County Association of REALTORS, says one month doesn’t reflect the overall trajectory of Delaware’s housing market.

Briggs King, who’s also a Republican State Rep. from Georgetown, says the market in the state did very well in its first quarter, a trend she thinks will continue as the First State shakes off the long winter.

If you are planning to sell your home, you should really consider looking at the stats and other related information that will affect how your property will compete in the market. But for the meantime, the least you could not do is check your home and see if there are any improvements that you should first focus on.

Among the most important aspects that you must look at is your roof.
