Tips on The Right Siding Color to Match Your Garden

Are you planning to change the color of your siding to match your garden? It may not be easy to pick one color, especially when your garden is filled with different types of plants in various colors.

Below are some tips that can help you choose the right colors.

Look at your roof.

Since a roof usually lasts for a decade or two, it is more permanent than your siding. It is also the extension of your siding, so it must be the first thing you need to look at. For a darker roof, consider getting a siding with a lighter color. A roof with neutral color allows more options when it comes to siding colors.

Consider your climate.

Your climate depends on where you live. The rule of thumb is that light colors will always appear brighter during sunny afternoons. Unless it’s okay for you to have an extra bright exterior with your sunflowers and bright colored siding, you may want to explore different colors and how they would look like at certain times of the day.

Check your landscape.

If you have vibrant flowers and dark shrubs, choose a light color for your siding. You may also try brick siding to match with bright yellow and orange flowers. If white and yellow are the dominant colors of your plants, try picking darker-colored siding. Cool plant colors, such as blue and green, work well with cool colors for siding.

If you have more than two colors in your garden, you can always ask a reputable siding contractor, such as Homecraft Inc., for advice on which color is safe to use. We offer free in-home consultation and estimate for home improvement projects like siding installation.

Explore color combinations.

A color scheme consists of more than one color. Some colors are good on the eyes but others could result in disaster. For instance, a white-on-white combination will make a jarring exterior. A grayish siding on white surrounded by greenery looks calm and crisp. Some stylish combinations include Pine Green, Red-Brown, and White, Brick Red Gingerbread Orange, and Brown, Olive, Celery, Ivy, Terracotta, and Cream. For more combinations, always look at the color wheel.
